About the artwork
“After a good downpour in the central desert regions, the bush tucker becomes prolific, and taking advantage of the plentiful water and food, the budgerigars breed and swarm in the millions. Julianne has depicted the budgerigar eggs with all the foods they enjoy, including a variety of bush plums, the green bush bananas, the feathery supplies, and many others. The budgies also enjoy grass and spinifex seeds.”
About the artist
“My daughter Mia is Aboriginal, so it has always been important to me to teach Mia about her heritage, culture and family history. I feel very honoured and proud to create this collection… Children learn through play; so incorporating Aboriginal Artwork in this collection is an exciting step towards improving all children’s knowledge and understanding of the Aboriginal history and culture.”
