About the Artist

Born in an Aboriginal community Amoongana near Alice Springs, Rahab Nungarrayi Spencer is now a grandmother who has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation since 2007. “She mainly paints her father’s Jukurrpa stories, Dreamings which related directly to her land, its features and the plants and animals that inhabit it. These stories were passed down to her by her father and mother and their parents before them for millennia. Warlukurlangu Artists is based in the community of Yuendumu in Central Australia, located 290km northwest from Alice Springs. Purchases from Warlukurlangu Artists provides funds which support special projects to improve the health and well-being of all the community.
