About the artists

Russel Yilmara Brown: Russell’s Indigenous heritages lies with the Garawa and Mara tribes of South-East Arnhem Lang and Groote Eylandt. He returned to his grandmother’s Country in his early 30s to reconnect with his roots and has since become a skilled painter, sculptor, and advocate for self-determination of First Nations peoples.

Leah Brown: Leah, a proud Garawa and Mara woman, specialises in painting, digital artwork, and design. She is passionate about using her skills to educate and share her culture, contributing to the rich tapestry of First Nations art.
