Tips & ideas

The Pythagoras Square has been designed to introduce children to the multiplication table. Combining this experience with the Coloured Bead Stairs, children will be able to compare the 2 representations of numbers as they multiply and divide a range of equations. 

As children create their Decanomial Squares, they are also able to explore geometric shapes and form.  This exploration can lead to a variety of mathematical and geometric discoveries as children investigate size, shape, and colour.
