This experience will inspire both solitary and group numeracy explorations. Here children are able to apply their mathematical understandings as they associate quantity with symbol by matching the number with the number of counters.

With the numbers cut out, children are able to feel the shape of the number, trace it with their finger or with a pen, becoming more familiar with the numeric symbols. Children can also practice their sequencing as they order the numbers from left to right with the corresponding number of counters
