As children remove and place the pegs of this open ended experience, they are practicing their fine finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination and 3 finger grips, all of which are essential skills for handwriting.

With the lines drawn, children are able to explore their social abilities as they engage their peers in a game of tic-tac-toe or in games that they create themselves.
