Montessori Colour Tablets & Sorting Task

Engage children in fun, colour recognition and matching games with these carefully crafted Montessori resources.

Colour Tablets
The colour tablets introduce colour and refines the chromatic sense - the perceptions of colour. As you introduce the other boxes, children learn about secondary colours and the science of colour mixing.

Play colour matching games with the colour tablets - ask children to find the same colour around the room or outside on an excursion, helping them learn the language of colour recognition. The learning gained from colour matching and exploration can be transferred to other activities, such as painting.

Colour Sorting Task
This sorting game asks children to use shade and colour to match the skittles to the colour boards, developing their skills in visual perception and colour identification. This is a great opportunity to introduce descriptive terms and associated language relating to colour, contrast and shade.

As children continue to explore the sorting task, they can investigate their own understandings of contrast and matching as they mix up the skittles and colour boards.
