This charming, interactive bug hotel is perfect to help children develop a secure understanding of numbers to 10 through nature inspired play. Ideal for counting activities, children can use the frame vertically or horizontally, placing bugs in different positions as they explore different ways to make the same number.

This sturdy wooden frame houses 10 chunky pine cubes, which each feature a bee, beetle, butterfly, snail, red ladybird and yellow ladybird in their preferred habitats on each side. The chalkboard roof adds a playful way to direct early counting, sorting or classifying activities such as, ‘I fly’, ‘I crawl’, or ‘make 5’.

Children will enjoy counting, pattern making and exploring number bonds by arranging bugs in varied ways to represent numbers up to 10. Put all 10 butterflies into the frame, 5 red ladybirds and 5 yellow or 8 snails and 2 bees – the explorations are endless.
